How can I start and stop apache?

In your shell as root you may type this:

Stop Apache:
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl stop

Start Apache:
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start

If you having any problems starting up apache, run a config test using the command /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl configtest. This will help you determine if there is an error in the (httpd.conf) configuration.

If you wish to restart apache, you may do so from WHM under restart services section in the lower left menu.
